As usual V.I. never ceases to amaze and entertain while portrayed as a down-to-Earth heroine with fears and doubts as we all have. This one is the best yet - as it weaves real events in the backdrop. Thank goodness the pandemic is part of that backdrop - I’ve felt a little out of touch reading mysteries that are supposed to be current but ignore that elephant! It’s another excellent work that shows, again, why Ms Paretsky is the Queen of this genre!
