I liked OUR HOUSE , so I was hoping that I had stumbled upon another author whose trove of books would keep me entertained into the forseeable future. Unfortunately, The Heights fell flat. Riding on the high from the previous book, I kept telling myself that this one would get better. At about the midway point as I was drifting into a coma, I turned the page to discover the second part and had a visceral reaction - it was a rehashing of the first part from another person's perspective! I startled my husband who was sitting in the same room as I exclaimed a slow-mo "Oooooh nooooo!" I wish the response had come from a twisty mystery discovery, but sadly it had not. Still, I was determined to get my money's worth of enjoyment, so I hung on - I WOULD finish this book! I plowed through the author's idea of revelatory "Ah Ha's" with my own "Uh huh" utterances. I did finish the book, but the so called twisty ending left me with a "Well, Ok" conclusion.
